We’ve gone over to Brooklyn on a field trip in a past blog posting. We’re heading back over today to talk about an on-going educational opportunity they offer called The Bead Project. They teach women that are economically challenged the skills of glass bead making and jewelry making as well as assisting them in the business and marketing side of their new skills. It’s a project that has been in existence for quite a few years now and really enriches the lives of its participants. Many of the ladies have gone on to have successful jewelry careers or have begun teaching others and passing on the joys of working with glass. Yay to Urban Glass for offering such a service to the community.
