Part of what I like to do for you, the reader, is show you works of art and interesting glass pieces as well as exposing you to artists and studios that you might not have of heard of before.

Look at this gorgeous glass flower pendant made of borosilicate glass by Melissa Rediger that is on her Sea of Glass blog today.  Be sure to stop by the blog and her web site to see her other gorgeous glass work.  She works in both boro and soft glass and has turned some of them into absolutely gorgeous jewelry pieces as well.

If you have not experienced the glass art of Kevin O’Grady, you are missing out.  But, don’t fret because his work is in galleries around the world.  It sounds so corny to say, “these pictures do not do the work justice” but it is so true.  I’ve seen his bracelets up close and personal while at the Tucson Gem Show and holy cow.  If I owned one I’d be gazing into it continually. They’re hypnotizing.

Not only does Kevin create beautiful jewelry but upon reading further on his site I see that he makes limited edition beads when he does shows. You can bet that he’s added to my ‘must collect’ list now and I’ll be hunting him down seeking him out at Bead & Button in June.

The Garden of Leah talks about how these glass figures emerged while doing demos at the Portland Saturday Market. I just love the delicate balance of the people suspended in the pose. Make sure to read her blog post about other things she’s sculpted in glass.
