Just received Bronwen Heilman’s newest and freshest newsletter in my in box so I’m sharing it with you. We’re winding down 2012 and she’s only got a couple of classes left for some of you out there to take. There’s a lampwork class with reverse enamel painting in Illinois at the end of October and the same type but fused glass at BABE, the Bead Extravaganza in the Bay Area of California. She’ll also be at BABE showing. I have yet to attend or show at BABE but I do hear that it it one of the best bead shows ever!! Maybe one day I’ll wander over. Got a show myself that same weekend in So Cal so it won’t be this year. But you have Bronwen options. I think you should take them. At least one of them…and if you do, say hi for me.

Create Stunning Cards with Solar Paste
Solar Paste created by Simon Hurly for Ranger Ink is a paste that looks very unassuming at first. It’s an almost white, light color with a creamy consistency that’s subtle on white cardstock but it really comes alive when applied to dark cardstocks. It comes in 6 different colors that each have a cool metallic shift.
Kristina decided to try it out and created three cards with different techniques with some amazing results. For one card she used the Solar Paste with a stencil, for another she created her own simple background with different colors of the paste and lastly she designed some flowers and leaves, all on dark black cardstock. She mounted the panels on white bases and added white heat embossed sentiments to complete each card idea. She’s sharing a video tutorial on making these cards with some tips for using the Solar Paste.
