I’ve been watching a pbs series called Art21 and last night saw this artist, Josiah McElheny profiled. He’s a trained glass blower that creates installation pieces with the glass he blows. It’s not about functional art which is what most glass workers create, this is fine art. At BE Con, the debate between art and craft was a topic of discussion. Much discussion. And I have found myself exploring the art side of my glass as my functional craft side becomes busier. Things to think about. But Josiah’s work is definitely art. If you can check out his work and his appearance on Art21.
