Pepsi Cola has a grant system that awards money every month called Pepsi Refresh Project. Individuals and organizations submit ideas and the general public can vote on these ideas. Those that receive the most votes win the awards. There are different levels of dollar amount that you can request. Seems like a pretty cool way to try to fund an idea. Well, an organization that has submitted an idea and is dear to every bead makers heart that I know is Beads of Courage. So I ask my readers to head over to Pepsi Refresh and vote for Beads of Courage. They’re trying to get $25,000. You can also find out what Beads of Courage is all about and maybe donate some beads. Help the kids!!

Create Stunning Cards with Solar Paste
Solar Paste created by Simon Hurly for Ranger Ink is a paste that looks very unassuming at first. It’s an almost white, light color with a creamy consistency that’s subtle on white cardstock but it really comes alive when applied to dark cardstocks. It comes in 6 different colors that each have a cool metallic shift.
Kristina decided to try it out and created three cards with different techniques with some amazing results. For one card she used the Solar Paste with a stencil, for another she created her own simple background with different colors of the paste and lastly she designed some flowers and leaves, all on dark black cardstock. She mounted the panels on white bases and added white heat embossed sentiments to complete each card idea. She’s sharing a video tutorial on making these cards with some tips for using the Solar Paste.
