I’ve mentioned it more than once. A number of times actually…but I’m leaving for Las Vegas tomorrow and couldn’t be more excited. It’s the Glass Craft and Bead Expo! Besides the fact I’ve got a table in the bead section of the show, there is going to be so much glass and tools and equipment I may loose my mind. I’ll be taking pictures and upon my return I’ll report on the new products I’ve seen as well as the glass and other goodies us glass fiends can’t live without. This should be a blast! And then there’s all of the glass enthusiasts that’ll be there too. If you are one of my readers and you find me at the show I’ll give you a set of micro dichros. Whoo hoo! So I hope to see you there!

Create Stunning Cards with Solar Paste
Solar Paste created by Simon Hurly for Ranger Ink is a paste that looks very unassuming at first. It’s an almost white, light color with a creamy consistency that’s subtle on white cardstock but it really comes alive when applied to dark cardstocks. It comes in 6 different colors that each have a cool metallic shift.
Kristina decided to try it out and created three cards with different techniques with some amazing results. For one card she used the Solar Paste with a stencil, for another she created her own simple background with different colors of the paste and lastly she designed some flowers and leaves, all on dark black cardstock. She mounted the panels on white bases and added white heat embossed sentiments to complete each card idea. She’s sharing a video tutorial on making these cards with some tips for using the Solar Paste.
